PureFit GO is a six-part series looking to showcase some of the most spectacular trail running trails in the Western Cape. In this final episode, local trail running star and winner of the AfricanX multi-day stage race, Megan Mackenzie explores the Chapman's Peak climb above Hout Bay as part of her preparation for her next race.

The Segment

The segment climbs 159 metres in 2.6 kilometres, to a maximum elevation of 542 metres above sea level with 360-degree panoramic views of Hout Bay, Chapman's Peak Drive, Noordhoek and False Bay.

The trail starts at the day pass turn around point on Chapmans Peak Drive, which means you don't need to pay the toll fee if you are coming from town. The path ascends a series of rocky steps, technical, but not uncomfortable, this is the perfect trail to challenge your concentration, and test your agility.
