I just enquired from Wildtrail about the Hedianga Beast run - they won't be holding it this year, as Rand Water is going to start digging up the western side of Hedianga Farm for a new pipeline.

Message from Wildtrail off Facebook : "That means that very little of the trail will remain until after they are done towards the end of the year when nature rehabilitation can begin. Unfortunately they cannot say when they will start but the word was that it might be in Feb. "

So... hopefully Hedianga will still be around after this. A whole year of digging etc, before rehab can begin.

I see this all over the eastern rural side of Pretoria though - more and more development, more closed off properties and new fences on previously open farms, more tarred-over dirt roads....

I guess it's the way it goes - the urban crawl.
