I am a sporadic trail runner and keen to start running longer distances (like longer than 15 km). For this I need a hydration pack of sorts. My problem is that if I run with a conventional hydration pack (all the water in the back), I inevitably end up with a sore lower back. It hurts right on my lumbar spine area and this recently also resulted in a strained quadratus lumborum.
I am assuming that this is from a bad posture from weight in the wrong place or from the bouncing caused by extra weight on my back.
Has anyone else had similar issues?
The obvious solution is to run with a hydration belt thingy but those typically carry less than 1L. Or there are the "front" hydration type packs. I would love to hear if anyone else has had similar issues and if putting the weight at the front helps.
